The SAT, or Scholastic Aptitude Test, is a standardized entrance examination used by colleges in the United States to estimate, in combination with other factors such as grade point average, a student's potential to succeed in college.  It measures literacy, numeracy, and writing skills and analyzes students' ability to analyze and solve problems.
